Currently I’m working on a song called (for now) “Our Painted World”. It has a very delicate feel to it, I think. Not a lot of low-end until perhaps 1/3rd of the song. I want it to feel floaty and dreamy, but also with a dance-like feel during the choruses. Something you can move like crazy to when the moment comes.
I’m learning how to produce my own music in addition to songwriting. It’s been an incredible journey so far. I’ve tried producing music on and off for several years (I have an older project called GALAKTIKA where I experimented a lot with making music). But this is the first time where I feel like I’m learning a lot of very useful skills. I learn something new every time I open up the DAW. I feel as if I’m truly building skills this time around.
As a result, my initial music may not sound 100% professional merely because of my own limitations. But I’m excited to keep going, to look back on the songs I’ve made and see how I’ve progressed. That’s one of the lovely things about being creative–you’re always growing and your works along the way are like a diary of that.
I want “Our Painted World” to be one of my first releases that feature my singing voice. So it’ll be my focus for a while.
