I exist here in the Miraline Ridge, one of my favorite places on Ariadnus. Currently, I dwell here and make music. I’m trying to find my voice, with the help of this planet and its story. Ariadnus has always had a beautiful sound to it, and I’d like to capture and archive it.

Just in case.

The air cuts a little, but I don’t mind. I’ve spent most of today’s daylight hours outside. In addition to the cold, a small sunburn provides me with a permanent blush. Ariadnus must be my secret lover, yeah?

My name is Phoebe Hadas. I was born on Ariadnus nearly 30 years ago, but had to leave the planet when I was a child. Now, I’ve returned, but the shadows of the planet’s political past echo through the trees and the plains and the mountains. There’s less wild than there had been when I was a young girl, playing in the once-lush forest.

By conserving and recording this planet’s unique soundscape, I hope to keep it alive even in the worst-case scenario. I have always loved music, writing little songs since I was young and learning to play piano and violin on the planet of Earth. I want to create something with the sounds of my homeland, and Ariadnus will be properly credited as a co-writer.

As for the type of music I love, it is hard to categorize. I love listening to all types of music and can find beauty in different aspects of various genres. If I had to try to sum up my music, it would be akin to “sound paintings”. Sounds electronic to some, perhaps. Like a dark ambient alternative sound. It’s hard to put into words. I’d rather create and see what comes out of it.

Right now I’m working on a piece for my first album: Voices, Missing — The Miraline Record. When this EP is done, I hope to start to travel to other areas of Ariadnus and work with those sounds the same way as I have with Miraline’s. No matter what, though, Miraline will always be my home.

May everyone who finds this discover the beauty in the world around them, whether Earth, Ariadnus, or some other place. For our wild sisters truly are the most amazing beings we can hope to meet.
